Antique Rose Plated Cufflinks

Rose gold gets unfairly accused of being a recent idea. It is, in fact, rather old, and looks the better for having been around.

These are cufflinks in an antique rose plating — a warm, slightly aged finish over a metal alloy, the sort of colour that looks as though it has already had one good life before reaching your cuff.

The colour is what Jonah notices. He insists it is the exact warmth of a rose-gold watch case he once saw in a tray of unsorted estate pieces — someone's grandfather's, sold by people who plainly had no idea what they were letting go. He did not buy it. He has regretted this at irregular intervals for roughly twenty years, usually around midnight, usually out loud, to no one in particular.
